This industry emits 10% of global greenhouse gas emissions, releasing 1.2 billion tonnes of carbon dioxide per year, more than the shipping and the aviation industry combined. If it continues at the same pace, the industry’s greenhouse gas emissions are predicted to increase by more than 50% by the year 2030.
Global Shapers Jaipur Hub with Awaaz Studio is excited to organize Jaipur’s first Clothes Swap Event where in we exchange our clothes as an initiative to not contributing towards fast fashion.
The CO2 cost of manufacturing one pair of Jeans is 33.4 Kgs, equivalent to driving 111 kilometres. By recirculating our clothes – by buying, wearing and donating second-hand – we are reducing the need for new garments. In turn, this could reduce environmental damage.
